Windows 7 and Windows 8 have a small rectangular button at the bottom right corner of the taskbar which when clicked displays the desktop. The same button when clicked one more time restores the application windows hidden by the Show Desktop Command. Yes Microsoft thought of it a little late but yes indeed it is a useful small button. Let’s say you are running multiple applications and want to find out something on your desktop, prior to Windows 7 you would have to rely on quick launch buttons or some shortcut key combination to display your desktop.
The Show Desktop Software presented here creates a red colored system tray icon which when clicked shows the desktop and if clicked one more time, displays application windows which were displayed prior to the show desktop command. Download the Show Desktop Software and use it on your computer running any version of Windows. During the setup you can opt to add a shortcut to desktop and the software adds the application to the Windows Startup. Hence the Show Desktop Red Colored rectangular icon will be there in your system tray automatically the next time you start your windows computer.
Once the installation is complete, launch the software using the Show Desktop shortcut, from programs menu or launch it at the end of software installation. In case you would like to uninstall the software, you can do so using the control panel and use the Add/Remove Programs option. Before initiating the uninstallation, right click on the Show Desktop System tray icon and select Exit from the System Tray Menu.
